End of week 1 results

Well thanks everyone for participating, I think this is going to be fun! Remember, distances are recorded from walking, running, etc. We will give 4 miles for an hour of physical activity if it is not able to be directly calculated in miles, assuming it is at least moderately vigorous, indifferent of age.

Total distance: 111.87 miles

Rachel - 18.8 miles
Caitlin - 18.57 miles
Reece - 18.5 miles
Leslie- 15.5 miles
Ivin- 12 miles
Steve- 9 miles
Brooke- 5 miles
Lucy- 4 miles
Josh - 4 miles
Katrina - 3.5 miles
Garth - 3 miles
Patrick??????

111.87 miles from Salt Lake puts us....somewhere between Evanston and Lyman Wyoming.

Miles to go to New York: About 2060

Evanston

Lyman

Points of interest passed include Parley's canyon, Park City, and the famous Henefer-Echo Wildlife Management Area. I actually don't know if it is famous, just saw it on the map. Also, if you head up by Jeremy Ranch near Park City you can see part of the trail where the pioneers came into Utah. Head up the trail, see a monument at the top, and then head down into Emmigration Canyon. It makes for a great bike ride and hike.

Here are a few pics from the trail, in the first you can see the trail marker an where you can bike on the trail. It's pretty cool. I wonder how the pioneers would have fared if they had mountain bikes? In the second you see the view from the top looking down into emigration canyon. The trail can be followed from there as well.

If anyone wants to join, feel free to! We are going to come up with a sweet t shirt design for participants. Plus, it's just fun!
